A leading Entrepreneur, CEO, Mentor, Philanthropist, Author, and Christian Leader; Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa is a God-fearing woman whose life and ministry has positively impacted thousands of people all over Zimbabwe and beyond. he footprint of her illustrious work in business and entrepreneurship covers fashion and clothing, manufacturing, furniture, décor and design, events and organic food production.
A leader and a visionary; she sits on organizational and corporate boards, and she is the CEO and Founder of Femme De Substance; an empowerment and mentorship program for female entrepreneurs and businesswomen. Through her selfless humanitarian work, she champions community development and nation building through the successful implementation of her various altruistic programs through her charity organization, Agape Family Care.
Being a passionate advocate for women and the girl child, Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa runs Awareness Campaigns that focus on Girl Child Empowerment through the ‘#GirlChildSheCan Campaign' and the ‘Together In The Same World’ Campaign that focuses on people with Albinism. Every year, she participates fully in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. She has partnered with many local organizations in poverty eradication. In 2014, she was recognized by the International Institute of Philanthropy for her extensive work in the society. In 2022, she was awarded the Diamond Winner for the Philanthropist of the Year Megafest Women's Awards. As part of her community development initiatives, Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa is currently building the first-ever high school in her childhood community; Sunningdale; which is nearing its completion. An active partner in ministry together with her husband Emmanuel Makandiwa; Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa also runs Victorious Ladies; which is the ministry’s Ladies Department as well as the Girls Ministry Department. Her portfolio also involves running the ministry’s free-to-air channel; Christ TV, co-authoring a 30-day daily devotional called The Life Lighter, as part of the ministry’s mandate to spread the Word of God and impact lives.
